Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points

Participation in MHPN networks may be endorsed for CPD points with the following organisations.

Please consult with your professional organisation’s contact (outlined below) for more details on your eligibility to claim for continuing professional development.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP)

Psychiatrists who participate in MHPN networks may claim CPD hours in accordance with the Continuing Professional Development Program Guide.

Australian Psychological Society (APS)

APS members can claim 1 Professional Development point for each hour spent in professional development activities in MHPN  network meetings.

That is, 1 point per hour can be claimed for case study discussion, etc. but not for time spent arranging further meetings or on other organisational matters.

Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN)

ACMHN members who participate in MHPN networks can earn 3 ACMHN Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points per network meeting.

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)

RACGP member GPs may claim QA&CPD points for participation in MHPN networks.

All GPs interested in pursuing their options are encouraged to visit the RACGP website or to consult with their state faculty QA&CPD program coordinator.

AASW members can accrue 1 point per hour by participating in MHPN networks.

OTA members may be able to claim up to 2 CPD points in Category 5 towards your Accredited Occupational Therapist Program CPD Points requirements by participating in MHPN networks.

Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Ltd

Pharmacists can record 2 Group 2 CPD credits per hour for their participation in MHPN network meetings.

Pharmacist speakers can record Group 2 CPD credits allocated at 2 per hour for their preparation as a guest speaker in MHPN network meetings.

About continuing professional development

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)

Participation in MHPN networks may contribute to your Continuing Medical Education.

Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)

If members participate in MHPN networks they can receive points by completing an application form and sending it to ACRRM. Once approved by the accreditation committee this activity will be good for the rest of the triennium.
