Facilitator Information

MHPN is searching for facilitators to run interdisciplinary workshops for mental health professionals.

Each workshop takes the form of a clinical case study discussion and will be attended by professionals who share an interest in mental health issues. Case study information, as well as materials designed to advise on the process of facilitation, will be provided by MHPN.

Role of the facilitator

As a facilitator there are two important components:

  1. Introducing the workshop and guiding the discussion, ensuring the case study is appropriately discussed and that a variety of opinions are heard.

  2. Facilitating the discussion on holding future workshops where professionals can learn more about each other and  build on the collaborative partnerships for the care of people with a mental illness.

The first workshop is funded by MHPN and the facilitator will be paid $500. Ongoing involvement with groups that want to meet again is highly desirable but will be on a voluntary basis.

The facilitator's role is to assist participants with sharing information to each other in a way that enables each professional participant to hear what other mental health professionals offer, and to identify local mental health referral pathways.

Interested in facilitating?

Experience in facilitating group discussions is preferred but not essential.  Additional information about requirements for this role is contained in the Expression of Interest form.

Facilitators are required to complete an Expression of Interest form or contact the MHPN project team in your state.
