Objectives of a MHPN peer consultation group network
• Facilitate consultation of interdisciplinary peers, often with differing levels of qualifications, experience and therapeutic orientation, to work collaboratively in a non-hierarchical fashion.
• Encourage discussion of professional practice issues in order to promote best practice.
• Provide opportunities for individual practitioners to present professional cases, to assist in meeting registration requirements for peer supervision.
• Acquire mental health competence and confidence through sharing, reflecting and supporting the clinical experiences and issues faced by members of the network.
• Describe current and potential local referral pathways.
