Topic: Misuse of prescription pharmaceuticals - from opioids to benzodiazepines – is an increasing problem that demands improved responses.

Dr Davies' presentation will address the health and welfare needs of clients affected by the problematic and/or illicit use of prescription medications. The session will include information and strategies designed to:

• Improve knowledge of the most common prescription drugs used problematically or illicitly

• Improve understanding of the physical, psychological and social implications of problematic prescription drug use, including polydrug use

• Improve understanding of the patterns and prevalence of problematic prescription drug use including the development of problematic use

• Improve knowledge of appropriate treatment and support options

 This is an open network meeting. Please forward this invitation to colleagues in your referral networks. Network meetings offer a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other and to help establish working relationships with other mental health clinicians in your local area.  MHPN encourages network members to bring along business cards, brochures and any other relevant materials about yourself, your practice and/or the service that you work for.
