Description: This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the theory and practice of evidence-based cognitive behaviour therapy interventions for insomnia. Topics covered will include lifestyle and environmental modification, sleep restriction and scheduling, motivational considerations, working with key cognitive distortions, and managing hypnotic dependence.
Speaker bio: Dr Clint Gurtman is a clinical psychologist working in private practice and lecturer in the doctoral programs at Deakin University. He has a clinical and research interest in the etiology and treatment of addictions and insomnia, and has published in these areas.
