Description:

Speaker bio: Susanne Nelson is an Occupational Therapist and Stephanie Crawford is a Speech Pathologist. Both therapists have had over 10 years of clinical experience in their chosen field and have specialised in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (working with children 0-16 years and their families). Susanne and Stephanie are both private practitioners and manage and direct Susanne Nelson and Associates and Stephanie Crawford and Associates respectively. Together, and with three other Directors (Psychologists), they have also formed "Early Bird Autism Services", a company specifically working with Children (0-7), and their families, with an ASD under the FaHSCIA "Helping Children with Autism Package". Both Therapists provide these Professional Services either at the Clinic in Hawthorn or in the community (i.e. Homes, Kindergartens or Schools of the clients). Susanne and Stephanie use a "Family Centred Practice" framework, and incorporate their interests of cognitive behavioural / affective training, anxiety management, social skills, sensory modulation and communication skills, when working with the children and their families.
