PANDA Family Violence workshop featuring sessions on working with Aboriginal mothers; and infant-led practice, 28 June 2018 - Melbourne

The perinatal period (pregnancy through to when baby is 12 months old) is a time of increased risk for both family violence and mental health issues.

This workshop will strengthen practice in relation to family violence and perinatal mental health, including sessions on how family violence impacts on infant development, and why infant-led practice can be an effective approach to facilitating change in a family (Wendy Bunston, Infant Mental Health specialist); working with Aboriginal mothers and families to increase access to services (Thelma Austin, Gunditjmara woman and Coordinator of the Koori Women’s Space at Djirra - formerly Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service); and case studies/tips for practice from the PANDA National Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Helpline.

Bookings close on 21 June.
