Ten years of webinars

17 December 2020  Project progress

MHPN is excited to celebrate 10 years of presenting webinars to interdisciplinary mental health practitioners. With the support of hundreds of expert panellists, we have now broadcast 140 webinars to 120,000+ live attendees; and, 250,000+ have viewed webinar recordings from our library.

MHPN CEO Chris Gibbs, who has been with MHPN from the beginning, says the organisation’s professional development offerings have thrived due to the consistent growth of partnerships with like-minded stakeholders.

‘Our aim from the inception of the webinar program has been to bring expert opinion on a wide range of topics to an interdisciplinary audience across Australia. We owe much of the success of the program to the many partnerships we have developed with government, professional associations, peak bodies and PHN’s over this time.

We look forward to continuing to provide high quality and relevant professional development opportunities to a growing practitioner base. We will do this through our webinar and new podcast platform and through the addition of online networks to complement our long-established and unique local practitioner network program’.

Audience participation, along with their feedback, provides testimony to the program’s effectiveness and success. The skills and qualities of MHPN’s panels and audiences have directly contributed to this outcome.

Senior Project Officer Nicky Bisogni, who had been involved with the establishment of the webinar program from the onset, says:‘MHPN is grateful to the clinical experts recruited as panellists for their generosity in sharing insights, tips and strategies in working together and better in mental health. We are also grateful to our inter-disciplinary audiences of mental health providers who over the years have, and continue to engage in and support MHPN online professional development activities.

MHPN webinars provide a space where collaborative inter-disciplinary mental health care is supported, modelled and celebrated. It’s been a privilege to provide this platform for mental health practitioners who are committed to improving outcomes for their patient and clients. Here’s to the next ten years!’

Webinars sit within our online professional development (PD) program which has recently expanded with the launch of the MHPN Presents podcast in August; podcast episodes will feature alongside webinars in MHPN’s upcoming online conference, ‘Working Better Together 2021’ launch from 31 May.
